B&B x Only The Good Stuff
-
What inspired you to start Only The Good Stuff?
In 2020, off the back of my own eco switches at home, I launched an online business selling eco-friendly products that included everything from laundry products to skincare. As time went on, I introduced Toilets Cleaning Bombs and Shower Steamers that I made at home. They quickly became the bestsellers of the whole business, so in 2023, I decided to separate these products out and solely concentrate on the handmade side of the business.
Only The Good Stuff UK was founded not long after, and I started to introduce more handmade, environmentally friendly products such as natural Bath Bombs and Bath Fizz.
What does an average working day look like for you?
As most small business owners will know, the average day is very mixed, and I find myself having to wear several different hats! In the mornings, I tend to concentrate on making my products, but the afternoons can be a mix of dispatching orders, admin, developing new products, working on branding, social media scheduling, accounting—the list is endless!
What gets you out of bed in the morning?
At the moment, my two-year-old! But the drive to run a successful small business is a huge motivation. There is nothing like being self-employed and having people enjoy your products.
How do you zone out from the world?
Reading. I have always loved to get lost in a good book, and I have been known (before kids) to finish a book in a couple of days. It's only recently that I have also realised that reading is a coping mechanism for me, as it has always been an outlet to step away momentarily from the stresses of everyday life.
If someone wanted to turn their passion into a business, what would be the one piece of advice you’d give them?
Keep going! Despite what social media likes to portray, nothing happens overnight. I set up my first business at age 22 and worked full time alongside it for 5 years until I was in a strong position, and the jump into self-employment was no longer a risk. This leg work was 100% worth it, as I was able to sell the business 5 years later, which meant I could go on to chase other dreams.
