B&B chat to Botanical Bloom
Botanical Bloom Apothecary is a Liverpool-based, family-run business founded by Kirsty & Michael. All their products are made in small batches right from their Liverpool studio. They believe in the beauty and power of healing with pure botanicals, which make up their entire range. Their products are cruelty-free, vegan-friendly, and 100% natural, with no hidden ingredients. They also go the extra mile and plant a tree for every online order received.
We caught up with the lovely Kirsty to discuss the highs and lows since launching her business last year. She shared with us her most loved products, her inspiration when designing and making them, as well as her advice for anyone wanting to turn their passion into a business. To round off, Kirsty shares with us, her top four must-sees if ever visiting her hometown of Liverpool.
What inspired you to start Botanical Bloom?
I began making my skincare, as I have really sensitive skin and can only use natural products. I then decided to try and turn this into a business creating botanical skincare with the best natural ingredients I could find.
What do you love most about being a business owner?
The flexibility of managing my own time around family life with the two little ones.
What do you find most challenging about running a business?
The rising costs of ingredients in the past year has been a struggle, as we only launched last year.
What’s your greatest personal achievement, with Botanical Bloom, so far?
We have a growing number of stockists across the U.K. now, we love seeing our handmade apothecary products on shelves in shops!
What’s your main source of inspiration when designing/ making your products, and what’s your personal favourite product that you sell?
Everything botanical, from the hand-drawn flowers on our product labels to adding dried flowers and petals to our oils and salts. I love that it all comes from nature. It would have to be our Unwind Collection, I love the unwind bath salts and bath oil, as they are perfect after a long day to calm and soothe.
What would be the one piece of advice you’d give someone that wants to turn their passion into a business?
Never give up, we launched our business in the hardest time for small businesses and have had to overcome so many obstacles already. Determination is so important when starting your own business.
